Jeffree Star Cosmetics x Manny MUA Skin Frost Eclipse | Review

Jeffree Star Skin Frost Eclipse

Last year, I hailed the Skin Frosts from Jeffree Star Cosmetics as one of the best highlighters I’ve used. And if I didn’t concern myself with how the darker shades would look on my light skin, I’d probably be on my way to buying them all. But I did, so I’m always waiting for the next new Skin Frost shade. Here comes the one from the collaboration with Manny MUA.

WHEN STARS AND MOON COLLIDE

Jeffree Star Skin Frost Eclipse3

Introducing the “Eclipse” highlighter from the Manny MUA x Jeffree Star Cosmetics collab! This Skin Frost has a “JSC logo Star and Moon” embossed in the powder!

Eclipse is described as a blinding pale icy peach. The peach tones are very light on this one. In fact, it rather looks like a pale frosted champagne to me. Like the rest of the items in the Jeffree Star Cosmetics x Manny MUA collection, the compact is matte and black a complete opposite to the usual Skin Frost packaging. The box has a holographic design to it and all in all, packaging-wise, it has me salivating all over it. On the pan, a star and a moon is embossed which signifies the logos that represent the creators. Speaking of logos, I can’t bring myself to swipe my brush across them. When I swatched this across my arm and even when I use it, I never came near them. I want them to remain untouched for as long as possible.

Anyway, moving on. The texture is soft with a creaminess to it that may compare to the Shimmering Skin Perfectors of Becca Cosmetics (that’s just my opinion). And as usual the pigmentation is quite intense. Sometimes I think it looks more metallic and some days, I believe it has a frosted feeling to it. Its pan, whether metallic or frosted looking, may seem intimidating, especially to highlighter beginners, and more so when swatched with a finger but the intensity is buildable so anyone can start off with just a little then go from there. It lasts on me for 7 hours before disappearing entirely.

If you love the Skin Frosts as much as I do, then I urgently recommend you get this one too especially if you’ve got light skin. Keep in mind that it’s a limited edition product (so hurry!!!). In all honesty, I’m glad to add it to my highlighters and I am giving it my TWO THUMBS UP. It retails for $29 here and I bought mine thru @guiltypleasure.ph.

Who else enjoyed the Jeffree Star Cosmetics x Manny MUA collection? Raise of hands please! Which item do you love the most?

  1. Ah I’d love to try something from Jeffree Star. It’s kind of expensive for Canadians to order as it’s all in US and he never offers free shipping 😦 But these look beautiful! xo J
