Miguhara Vegan Green-Tox S.O.S. Toner, Ultra Whitening Perfect Ampoule & Aqua Balance Moisturizing Ampoule | Review

There’s a lot of Korean brands out there that I don’t know about. I thought by now I would have at least known majority of them but it seems like the more I delve into Korean beauty, the more brands I discover, whether it’s skincare or makeup. Today, I’m going to share my experience with a few products from the brand MIGUHARA.

ABOUT MIGUHARA

Established in 2013, Korean brand MIGUHARA believes in the power of Mother Nature to enhance beauty. Through extensive research and development, MIGUHARA develops safe and efficacious skin care and make up products from natural, plant-based ingredients to promote skin regeneration and maintain healthy skin. Bestsellers include the Ultra Whitening Ampoule Origin that brightens skin and blurs blemishes, and the Big 3 Step Whitening Mask Pack that brightens and moisturizes skin while enhancing skin elasticity.

Based on MIGUHARA’s website, they have 10 skincare lines catering to different skin concerns. They sent me 3 different product, one from the Green Tox S.O.S. line, and another from the Ultra Whitening line. As for the 3rd product, I’ve never figured out which line it’s a part of.

The Vegan Green-Tox S.O.S. Toner comes in a clear, green bottle with 150 ml of product. It has an herbal scent that’s refreshing to the nose. I actually though it would smell like green tea but it smells very much like rosemary instead. It contains 87% Jeju green tea extract, allantoin, glycerin, 10 types of plant extracts that comprise their Mellatening complex, germinated spout extract and bellflower extract. I’ve been searching for what extracts are included in their patented complex but I haven’t found anything on the net.

This has a watery texture that gets quickly absorbed in the skin with no waiting time. It feels lightly hydrating but only if I apply at least 2 layers of it. There’s a little tackiness at the start but later on, it will feel smooth and soft on the skin. It doesn’t leave any dewiness on the skin but with the right amount, leaves a soft glow on the face.

The Ultra Whitening Perfect Ampoule comes in a clear, glass dropper bottle with 20 ml of product. This is available in bigger bottles; I think it has a 35ml and 50ml. It has a light citrus scent that reminds me so much of the orange-flavored jelly snacks I ate as a kid. It has glycerin, 2% niacinamide, galactomyces ferment filtrate, peptides (Pentapeptide-13 , Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4), carnosine, allantoin and a number of plant extracts.

It has a thin, gel-like consistency that’s quite easy to absorb on the skin within seconds of application. It leaves a little tacky feeling that’s comfortable enough in hot and humid weather. My skin feels hydrated enough with it although it doesn’t make me look dewy. I use about 3 drops of this ampoule — 2 for my face then 1 for my neck. I haven’t noticed any changes on my skin since I started using this but maybe because I’ve been using other skincare with niacinamide and peptides.

The Aqua Balance Moisturizing Ampoule comes in a similar glass dropper bottle as the one above but with 35 ml of product — I think this is the only amount available for this ampoule. Out of all the 3 products I was sent, this has the lightest scent which I think is a subtle chemical smell. It has glycerin, arginine, Neem tree extracts, sodium hyaluronate, aloe vera flower extract, cyanocobalamin, green tea extract, beta-glucan and other plant extracts.

This has a thin, almost watery-like consistency unlike the other ampoule above. But this leaves me with the most tacky feeling among the three. I use about at least 2-3 drops of this for my face depending on how warm the climate is here. Few drops are enough for those days when it’s really hot and humid but when the weather becomes colder, I can use about 4 drops. It’s lightly hydrating and doesn’t look too dewy on the skin.

If I use the toner and at least one of the ampoules, I can skip a moisturizer in the morning. While at night, I would still need to use a light moisturizer to cater to my dehydrated skin. My favorite out of all these would be the Ultra Whitening Perfect Ampoule but I think it’s more because of the nostalgic memories it brings me rather than their effects on the skin. But overall, I think these are suitable for those with oily and combination skin types especially given the current hot and humid weather here in the Philippines. Because they each have a ton of plant extracts in them, I advise sensitive skin types to patch test first before using them.

Have you tried any skincare from this brand? Is there anything you’d recommend I try?
