Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Holiday Palette

Happy Friday everyone! Today, I’ll be reviewing the Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Palette. It was at the top of my list for holiday releases coming from Kylie Cosmetics. Knowing that it would most likely sold out first among the limited edition products I was planning to get, I did not hesitate to place an order.

KYLIE AND HER HOLIDAY PALETTE

Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Holiday Palette3

The #KylieCosmetics Kyshadow pressed powder eye shadow palette is your secret weapon to create the perfect Kylie eye. Each Kyshadow Palette comes with 9 pressed powder eye shadows that can be used together to recreate Kylie’s favorite looks or customize your own. These special shades are infused with diamond powder and packaged in limited edition silver packaging for the holiday season.

Kylie Cosmetics Kyshadow Holiday Palette2

Just like the previous Kyshadow palettes, the Holiday Palette has 9 eyeshadows in holiday themed, jewel tones combining mattes and shimmers in a sturdy silver cardboard packaging. The only difference is the mirror on the cover which I very much prefer as I can practically apply eyeshadow anywhere.

The shades included in the palette are the following: Sugar Cookie which is described as a matte finish creamy warm nude; Frosty, a metallic finish platinum silver; Chestnut is a matte finish muted dusty mauve; Mittens, a metallic finish deepened mahogany red; Winter, described as a metallic finish shimmering denim blue; Nutcracker which is a metallic finish silvery plum; Gingerbread, a metallic finish shimmering silver bronze; Evergreen, described as a matte finish deep teal green, and Silent Night which is a matte finish blackened plum.

The texture of the eyeshadows are quite similar to the previous Kyshadow palette I reviewed last year in that the powders are soft and finely milled. The mattes are exceptional as the ones from the other palette except for Silent Night which I find to be a little patchy. The metallic shades were a bit of a let down because they don’t look like the same eyeshadows that Kylie swatched on her Snapchat account. Looking at the swatch below, Nutcracker seems more like a plummy brown instead and I can’t really see the deep mahogany red in Mittens. However, all of them blend easily and if I ignore the supposedly color descriptions, I find the color payoff to be awesome.

Ask me my favorites and I’d point out Sugar Cookie, Chestnut, Mittens and Gingerbread. Frosty and Nutcracker come in close. So is the palette worth every penny? That’s the question at the end, right? While there are some disappointing aspects, it still has some saving grace. There are more shades I like and frankly, those those metallic eyeshadows that looked different in actual swatches? I quite like them so I don’t regret getting this palette at all.

This palette is still available online for $42. I was able to order this via Makeup Authority Ph. Who else bought this holiday limited edition?
