Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator in Starlight | Review

Anastasia Beverly Hills Starlight

I’ve had this highlighter from Anastasia Beverly Hills since the start of the year but with new limited edition highlighters popping up every now and then, it was somewhat trying to write down a review, especially when I should be prioritizing limited editions first.

Well now here’s a review of one of the shades.

STARLIGHT, STAR BRIGHT

Like a filter for your complexion, this brush-on highlighter contains a mosaic of brightening powders that impart a lit-from-within glow. The mirrored compact makes on-the-go touchups easy and fail-safe.

The Review:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Starlight2

Out of the 4 highlight shades from Anastasia, it was actually the rose gold tone of Riviera that got my attention initially. But when I saw the swatches, I was drawn to how white Starlight looks which I know will look good on my light skintone. The Anastasia highlighters comes in a round black, plastic compact with a mirror on the lid containing 9 g/0.32 oz of product with a mosaic pattern on the pan.

Starlight is described as a white gold. It looks more to me like a frosted pale yellow with silver and gold glitters. I would usually associate glitter with metallic chunkiness but the glittery particles on this highlighter had none of that. Rather, it contributes to a lovely sheen on the cheeks without being too obvious and it didn’t emphasize my too-large pores.

The creamy-textured powder was easy to blend and one light tap of the brush on the pan was enough to get the glow I want on my skin. However, you can get a more intense shimmer if you prefer with a dusting of few more across the cheekbones because it has quite the pigmentation.

All in all, I like the formula of this highlighter and I know I’m going to try another shade soon. I still want Riviera by the way so maybe that’s the next Anastasia highlighter I’ll get.

Have you tried any of the Illuminators from Anastasia Beverly Hills? Which one is your favorite?

Retails for $28 in the US but bought from @makeupdepotph.
