If you ask me, I think Tarte makes some good palettes out there.
Because I loved the Afterdark Rainforest Palette I ordered the Showstopper Palette too. There’s a bronzer, blush, highlighter and 6 eyeshadows. Who wouldn’t love a palette that basically has everything on it?
Powered by Amazonian clay, this longwearing eye & cheek palette is sure to make a showstopping statement.
Product Performance: Whether you’re headed to work or working the red carpet, this palette of warm, flattering eye & cheek shades has everything you need to let your star power shine. It features six never-before-seen shadows, a full size blush and a highlighter/bronzer duo perfect for creating that camera-ready contour faster than you can say lights, camera, lashes™! Powered by tarte’s iconic Amazonian clay, each fade-free, blend-worthy formula is inspired by the glitz and glam of Hollywood for an effortless finish that’s sure to make a showstopping statement.
• 6 Amazonian clay eyeshadows: showstopper copper (bronze copper), go for the gold (gold), you’re a natural (nude), steel the scene (steel taupe), rose to the top (rose gold) and dim the lights (black brown)
• Amazonian clay blush: fame (warm peach)
• Amazonian clay matte waterproof bronzer: park ave princess™
• Amazonian clay highlighter: champagne pink
• Amazonian clay: nature’s most perfect ingredient for better, longer, truer wear
• mineral pigments: soothe and soften
The Showstopper Clay Palette, like its earlier predecessor is housed in a round compact with a full-sized mirror, containing 1 bronzer, 1 blush, 1 highlighter and 6 eyeshadows.
Park Ave. Princess is the bronzer (again!) which is a warm medium brown with a matte finish. The formula is different with the other Park Ave. Princess in my other palettes. For one thing, this one is more powdery. Another is how it looks less warm.
The blush, Fame, exclusive to the palette is described as a warm peach. It is a matte medium orange coral against my skin.
The highlighter is called Champagne Pink but I can best describe it as a silvery white with a metallic finish. I saw some photos of it looking pinkish but it never looked like that on me. I would’ve been jealous but not when it looks so gorgeous like this against my skin (take a look at my swatch below).
For the six eyeshadows, you’ve got Showstopper Copper, described as a bronze copper; Go For the Gold which is a muted gold; You’re A Natural described as a nude, Steel the Scene described as a steel taupe, Rose to the Top which is a rose gold and finally, Dim the Lights which is a black brown. They all hold up impressively well against the humid weather here in the Philippines but they do crease after 7-8 hours without the help of any primer. Most of the time I just use You’re a Natural on my crease, Go For the Gold on my lids, and a some Dim the Lights on my outer crease.
I initially liked that the eyeshadows are more neutral here compared to the Rainforest After Dark palette but recently I don’t find myself with a desire to use them daily unlike the mauves of the Rainforest palette. It’s more a case of “I’ve seen similar shades somewhere.” Because honestly, now that I think about it, the shades are pretty much dupable. I do however, love the highlighter included. It is such a gorgeous color on the cheeks and it’s the only one I truly enjoy wearing.
