Best of My 2014 Product Round Up

The past year has been amazing. I met people online and offline who are just as addicted to makeup as I am. I, the girl behind her glasses, am extremely thankful to everyone who has taken their time to visit my little corner on the web, liked my posts and commented.

Now, what beauty blog would this be if I don’t list down the most amazing finds I have discovered in 2014? So sit back, relax, grab a cup of tea or hot cocoa, perhaps some biscuits too if you want. Here they are, the best of the best products, in my opinion at least. 😉

Best of 2014 face products

When long hours at work are inevitable and I have to plunge my head on multiple tasks/errands and deadlines, I only trust the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer (review) to make my makeup last until late into the night. Or when, you know, there’s no time to reapply my makeup for after-work dinner and drinks. In second place is the Purely Cosmetics Oil Absorb Powder (review). Sometimes, I add a little dusting of it if I feel I’m going to be exposed to a more humid environment. It does help in keeping the oilies away for a few more hours. Continue reading

Look: Copper Eyes and Coral Lips For A Concert

Copper Eyes Coral Lips Look products

About a week ago, John Legend returned to the Philippines for his 2nd concert in the country as part of his “All Of Me” tour.

I’m just going to share the products I used that night. You’ll have to forgive me, I’m terribly unoriginal and too lazy to think of a specific look so I decided to just go with what usually works. The venue was sure to be dark. Retouching would have been an impossible feat and if ever I had gone out differently, no one will appreciate it — not even the singer I had dressed up for. Lastly, it was just me and a couple of girlfriends. All our attention was focused on John and his voice anyway. Continue reading

April 2014 Product Round-Up

April 2014 Products
April 2014 products2
April 2014 Products3

Hey everyone! There hasn’t been much that went on last April. Aside from starting the Game Changer series and getting addicted to Wayne Goss‘ and Karima of Shameless Fripperies‘ Youtube channel, this month’s product round-up is a short list. Some are new and the others are products I’ve recently rediscovered.

The Newbies:

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (OC-1). A total favorite and holy grail material! I’ve set aside all my other foundations and I’ve been using this one everyday. All my thoughts here.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice. I finally found this shade at a Revlon counter. Or maybe I was just too distracted every time I come near one by the Lacquer Balms to explore the lipsticks carefully.

Alba Botanica Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel. This is a new addition to my skincare. I’ve been using this for two weeks now and I’m in love with how it smells, like a fresh glass of lemonade on a sunny day. I’m giving it a couple more weeks before I give a review.

Topshop Bronzer in Mohawke. I would’ve dubbed it the best bronzer except it doesn’t last that long but it’s matte and neutral. Read my review here. Continue reading

Going HD with Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (Old Formula) OC-1

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation

The Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation could not have come at a better time.

I had the flu. My nose was runny with snot and red from constantly blowing. All I wanted to do was sleep all day and drink some juice.

Because of Shari, Victoria and Rae (you girls, you’re going to be the death of my wallet), I was immediately sold on their praises of the lightweight formula and natural-skin finish. Meaning, I just had to get one myself. The sale at Beauty Bar may have been over last March but these foundations are still being sold at 45% off. I believe they are still selling this at a discounted price up until the last bottle is gone because KGD has reformulated their Aqua Foundations.

Unfortunately not all Beauty Bar branches sell Koh Gen Do. Third time’s the charm they say. On the third branch I went to, at Glorietta 2, Makati, they still have most shades except OC-1.

Because the last bottle was sold to me. (Insert evil laugh here.)
