Good & Clean Skin with Alba Botanica

Alba Botanica Good & Clean

Here it is at last! The review that’s been long overdue.

I purchased Alba Botanica’s Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel mainly because I wanted to start using products with hydroxy acid in it. In low concentrations, hydroxy acids — there are two, alpha and beta — are used in dermatology as chemical peels to improve skin appearance and texture, reducing wrinkles, post-acne marks, hyperpigmentation and other dermatologic conditions. It reacts with the top layer of the skin — the epidermis, and acts as an exfoliant. Basically, dead skin cells don’t get a chance to build up therefore, no clogged pores. Continue reading

Product Round-up for June

June 2014 Products

Hello there! How have you been doing on this fine day?

As for me, June has kept my days busy and brought me a medley of new products — MAC was certainly at the forefront with their new releases — and some old ones to play around with. So busy that I wasn’t able to do a product round-up for the month of May. I apologize for that and I hope you’ll forgive me. That said, here are the products I have favored for the past month.

Alba Botanica Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel and Daily Detox Foaming Cleanser (not in the photo). The combination of these two products makes me feel as if summer has never left my country. Their citrus-y scents always makes my skin feel so refreshingly clean. I promised a review of the peel last May but I recently picked up the cleanser so I thought why not just post a review of the two together. This month, I really promise. Send me a message if I don’t deliver okay?

Make Up For Ever Face & Body Foundation. One never knows the weather we’re going to get in the Philippines. One minute it’s raining and the next, the sun is out. Either way, I’m wet from the downpour or sweating buckets from the heat. It’s this waterproof foundation to the rescue then! Here’s my original reviewContinue reading

April 2014 Product Round-Up

April 2014 Products
April 2014 products2
April 2014 Products3

Hey everyone! There hasn’t been much that went on last April. Aside from starting the Game Changer series and getting addicted to Wayne Goss‘ and Karima of Shameless Fripperies‘ Youtube channel, this month’s product round-up is a short list. Some are new and the others are products I’ve recently rediscovered.

The Newbies:

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation (OC-1). A total favorite and holy grail material! I’ve set aside all my other foundations and I’ve been using this one everyday. All my thoughts here.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Fire & Ice. I finally found this shade at a Revlon counter. Or maybe I was just too distracted every time I come near one by the Lacquer Balms to explore the lipsticks carefully.

Alba Botanica Good & Clean Pore Purifying Mini Peel. This is a new addition to my skincare. I’ve been using this for two weeks now and I’m in love with how it smells, like a fresh glass of lemonade on a sunny day. I’m giving it a couple more weeks before I give a review.

Topshop Bronzer in Mohawke. I would’ve dubbed it the best bronzer except it doesn’t last that long but it’s matte and neutral. Read my review here. Continue reading

Beauty Favorites of 2013: Lip Products

If I were to pick a single beauty product, it would be something to put on my lips. Because as my closest friends know, my addiction to lip products knows no bounds.

2013 Lip Favorites

I should start with a little info about myself; my lips in particular. They are as dry as the desert. They peel, chap and crack easily on an ordinary lip balm. The cold months can be unforgiveable. The worst part happens every time I use a matte lipstick or something else similarly drying because then, a dry spot on my upper lip appears. Annoying, ugh. Continue reading
