Klairs Daily Skin Softening Water | Review

I’ve been a fan of the Korean beauty Klairs since I first used their Supple Preparation Toner. Granted that one contained some essential oils but they remedied the issue and released a toner devoid of any essential oils. Actually, there aren’t many products I’ve tried from them but the ones I do have left a lasting impression on me. That said, here’s another product from them that I truly enjoyed.

EXFOLIATE DAILY WITH KLAIRS

It’s a water-like exfoliating toner with low irritation and no viscosity. You can easily take care of dead skin cells daily with this toner as it contains sugarcane extract, a natural exfoliant, and a small amount (0.15%) of citric acid that causes the lowest irritation among AHAs. The toner also contains 45% of cucumber water that delivers rich hydration and refreshing sensation to soothe your dry skin the exfoliation might cause. It is recommended to skin types that suffer from excessive dead skin cells and whiteheads, and also to hypersensitive skin as it causes no irritation or stickiness.

The Daily Skin Softening Water comes in a huge — and I mean HUGE — 500 ml transparent, dark green, plastic bottle. I never thought it would be this big that I was only expecting a bottle with lesser amount. This daily exfoliant is a clear liquid without any kind of scent. It has a watery consistency and doesn’t leave any stickiness behind.

The ingredients list is quite short. The notable ones are cucumber fruit water, apple fruit water, sugarcane extract and citric acid. Cucumber fruit water has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Apple fruit water has the potential as an antioxidant. Sugarcane extract, from which glycolic acid can be derived, is a natural exfoliant. Lastyly, citric acid is also an alpha hydroxy acid used for exfoliation and can adjust the pH of skincare from being too acidic or alkaline.

I started using this at a time when my skin was starting to become rough and textured due to hormonal acne of which my forehead and chin have the most prominent ones. Those hormonal areas of my face are not really obvious from afar. On close-up, the closed comedones become more visible like on my photo below. However, in just under a week with once a day use of this, my comedones have been reduced in number. There are still a few left and there are hardly new ones appearing each day but my skin looks and feels smoother & softer. With regards to any adverse reaction, my skin didn’t experience any stinging, redness or peeling even if have been using it everyday.

To cap off this review, I’m giving this exfoliant my TWO THUMBS UP. I’ve enjoyed using this as part of night routine and I’ll keep using it until I finish off this bottle which might last me for months or even a year. I’m inclined to agree that this is suitable to all skin types although sensitive skin may need to dial back on their frequency of use as a cautionary measure to prevent any irritation.

This retails for $27 in Wishtrend and I think every ml of this skincare product is worth every penny and repurchase. Have you tried this particular exfoliant from Klairs?

  1. Wow this sounds great. I’ve used their supple prep toner before and really liked it. I’ve repurchased their freshly juiced vitamin drop and use it as my AM serum. Since this says it’s great for people who struggle with whiteheads, I may have to add it to my wish list!
