Illiyoon Probiotics Skin Barrier Essence Drop | Review

My first review of the year is here! Now I’ve always wondered about the brand Illiyoon because they are under the umbrella of Amore Pacific, which houses other luxury Korean brands like Sulwhasoo and Iope, and other well-known brands like Innisfree and Etude House. Thru Charis Celeb, I get to try one of their products.

THE ESSENCE OF LACTOBACILLUS

Illiyoon Probiotics Skin Barrier Essence Drop

An essence enriched with lactobacillus ferment lysate that reinforce skin barrier, and moisturize the sensitive skin. Water type essence spreads easily only with one drop, and permeates into the skin, leaving a moisture barrier over skin. Contains Lacto Skin Complex™, a lactobacillus ferment lysate, reinforce skin barrier to help the skin maintains its own strength.

The Probiotics Skin Barrier Essence Drop comes in a white plastic bottle containing 200 ml of product. It has a very, very light herbal scent, almost unnoticeable, that I don’t mind at all. I thought the scent can be attributed to the number of plant extracts included but when I searched for the complete list, there is, unfortunately, fragrance in it.

Speaking of ingredients, there’s no English translation of them on the box but according to some websites, the main ones are Lacto Skin Complex, Madecassoside and Yoon Complex. Lacto Skin Complex is basically the lactobacillus ferment lysate which has soothing properties has the ability to strengthen the skin barrier and accelerates skin repair by promoting cell renewal & increasing collagen production. Yoon Complex is a combination of medicinal herbs — Panax ginseng root water, Angelica Acutiloba, Ophiopogon Jappnicus root extract — in traditional Korean medicine for skincare. Full ingredients list below.

Ingredients : WATER / AQUA / EAU, SQUALANE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, METHYL TRIMETHICONE, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, ACRYLATES/C10-30 ALKYL ACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER, TROMETHAMINE, GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE, DEXTRIN, PANAX GINSENG ROOT WATER, FRAGRANCE / PARFUM, DISODIUM EDTA, MADECASSOSIDE, BUPLEURUM FALCATUM ROOT EXTRACT, ANGELICA ACUTILOBA ROOT EXTRACT, OPHIOPOGON JAPONICUS ROOT EXTRACT, LACTOBACILLUS FERMENT LYSATE(10 ppm) ·

This essence has a milky appearance and a watery consistency that it’s perfect for my oily and dehydrated skin. It takes only a few seconds for it to sink in and when it does, it leaves my face with a healthy and dewy glow. Not only that but I can feel my skin become very hydrated with it. There’s no greasy residue but there is some tackiness that never fully goes away which I’m fully okay with because my skin just feels supple and plump. And because I find it so good, I apply two layers of it at night just so I’m sure that my skin barrier is restored and ready for the following day.

Illiyoon Probiotics Essence before and after

To end this review, I’m giving this product my TWO THUMBS UP! I’m definitely going to look out for Illiyoon’s other products within their probiotics range and give them a go at least once. For this essence, I can definitely recommend it to those with dry and dehydrated skins. For sensitive skin types though, you may want to patch test first due to the presence of fragrance. If any of you interested in this, you can check it out at my Charis store.

Have any of you tried this essence yet or anything with probiotics in it?
