I’m quite picky when it comes to korean cushions. I think it’s because of the dewy finishes they usually have. I mean, come on, as someone who has an oily skin, having a dewy look is not something I dream of. Anyway, among the korean cushion foundations, Nakeup Face is one I would like to try at least once. Thru Charis Celeb, I was finally able to do that.

The One Night Cushion has one of the prettiest packaging in a cushion that I’ve ever held in my hands. It only comes in 2 shades: #01 Ivory Nude and #02 Beige Nude. Of course I picked the lightest shade to match me — it has always been that way in my experience — #01 Ivory Nude. However, since both shades are light, I think I can even wear and match with Beige Nude.
It claims to have ingredients that calm and soothe the skin like centella asiatica extract, mulberry root extract, portulaca extract, tea tree leaf extract, and cornflower water. Aside from those, it also has panthenol and ceramides. First ingredient on the list is sea water and I’m a bit skeptical of that. It has a lot of minerals, true but I’ve never heard of it being in cosmetics until now.
The formula of this cushion foundation has a very dewy finish. I honestly believe this is the most dewy I’ve ever been my whole life. It offers a medium coverage that’s easily buildable to full with additional layers. The best way for me to wear it is to set it with a mattifying loose powder.
Here are some things I noticed while I was wearing it. After the 3rd hour, I start getting shiny along my nose. By the 4th hour, the foundation starts to crease and collect in the lines around my mouth. It’s not until after the 6th hour mark that my forehead and cheeks starts looking shiny too. I would need to blot out the oil by this time, however, beyond that point, I do not become any more oily or greasy than I already was.
I feel this is more for those who has dry or combination skin types because of how dewy it looks on the skin. I had hoped this has more oil control in it since it supposedly suits acne-prone skin and acne kind of goes hand-in-hand with oil production, so I’m a bit disappointed in that regard. For those who wants to give this a go, you can get it thru my Charis store.
