Charis M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream | Review

When Charis finally came up with their own skincare, I became excited. But when I found out their first products will be cica-based, my excitement increased ten-fold. For those of you who don’t know, centella asiatica or cica is my all-time favorite skincare ingredient (along with propolis). I want to try as many centella-based skincare products as I can which includes its derivative madecassoside.

Multi high tech solution for sensitized skin

  • Clarifying
  • Lifting
  • Relaxing
  • Moisturizing

Contains Madecassoside and Centella Asiatica Leaf extract providing delicate hydration and moisturization effects to the sensitive skin damaged from external stimuli.

The M+ Madecassoside Cica Cream comes in a green-and-white squeeze tube and is available in 2 sizes: a 30 and 50 ml.  Both sizes are perfect for traveling but I’ll reserve the smaller one for that purpose and use the larger tube everyday. The cream itself is white and has an herbal scent.

Aside from the very obvious centella asiatica leaf extract (58%) and madecassoside, this also contains niacinamide, different hyaluronic acids and a ‘Six Leaf Complex’ composed of Matricaria leaf extract, Monarda Didyma leaf extract, Mentha Rotundifolia leaf extract, Diospyros Kaki leaf extract, Perilla Ocymoides leaf extract, and basil leaf extract.

The cream is catered to different areas other than the face like the neck and under eye areas. I only need a small amount to use on my face and neck and two tiny dots for my under-eye because it melts like butter on the skin and spreads easily. I thought it would be too rich for my oily skin but as it turns out, it gets absorbed by the skin in less than a minute. At first, it will feel a bit greasy but as soon as the cream gets settled, only a little tacky feeling remains. Wait a few more minutes and the tackiness goes away, leaving only a soft and smooth feeling. As you can see below, it makes my skin more hydrated and gives me a soft dewiness that I can appreciate without making me oily.

This is suitable to all skin types and those oily skin will appreciate how quickly it gets absorbed. I’m glad I was able to try this and now I’m curious to know what else Charis has in store for the future. They have a cica mask too you know and I wish they’ll add more to their range like a toner, sleeping mask and maybe a sunblock. For now, you can get their cica cream on my Charis store.

Do you love centella products as much as I do? Tell me your favorites.
