Mustus Chlo Gauze Peeling Pads, Chlo Ampoule & Chlo Gel Cream| Review

I have not heard of chlorophyll being an ingredient in any skincare product until I received an email saying I’ll be getting these trio from Charis Celeb. After a little bit of research and reading, I became more excited to try these out. While I haven’t seen any scientific journals discussing the benefit of chlorophyll in skincare, I did read some articles saying that it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and wound healing properties. How amazing is that? Anyway, here’s my review of these products.

GREEN THERAPY FOR TROUBLED SKIN

Chlorophyll which is the core element of photosynthesisis the root of plant’s life. There’s effect of excreting harmful ingredients outside by making cellular metabolism smoothly.

CHLO GAUZE PEELING PADS

In the pack, there are 20 individual sheets of Chlo Gauze Peeling Pads. Each packet contains a thick cotton pad soaked in watery essence. The essence itself has a light herbal scent to it that I find very relaxing. There are two sides to the pads, a rougher, gauze side which is for exfoliation while the softer side is for smoothing and refining the texture of the skin.

The 2 sides of the Chlo Gauze Peeling Pad

These pads contain gluconolactone, which is a PHA and in terms of exfoliation, they’re as effective as AHA’s. The only difference is that PHA have larger molecules making them ideal for sensitive skin types because they don’t penetrate deeply into the skin. They are also less irritating when you compare them with other chemical exfoliants.

I’ve used them once a day everyday since I received them and I never experienced any stinging or redness. The essence doesn’t leave any stickiness behind, just a mild tackiness that goes away eventually. The end effect is my skin feels softer, smoother and quite hydrated.

CHLO AMPOULE

The Chlo Ampoule is may favorite among these three. It comes in a clear, plastic bottle with its own dropper. The ampoule has a green color to it and also has a bit of an herbal scent with a hint of citrus. The texture is a little bit viscous but it absorbs into the skin right away leaving only some tacky feeling behind.

I use about 3 to 4 drops of the ampoule to cover my entire face. It feels very hydrating to the skin and if you look at the photos of me after applying each of the products, you can see how it has made my skin dewy and moisturized. It never felt greasy at all and I really enjoy how my skin feels so supple with it.

CHLO GEL CREAM

The Chlo Gel Cream is in a small plastic jar containing 50 ml of product. It has a light green color and smells similarly like the ampoule, just with less citrus tones in it. It has a watery gel consistency that is suited to many skin types.

In my experience though, I find this cream takes a minute or two to be fully absorbed by my oily skin. There is an initial sticky feeling on application and after patting it in within the first minute, it settles nicely leaving a healthy glow. As you can see in my photos below, I have a very pretty glow on the face, a little different from how it looks after I have used the peeling pad and ampoule.

Mustus Chlo before and after

Since I didn’t have any redness or irritated skin to test these against, I can’t fully say how effective they are in soothing the skin. Overall though, I find these to be very hydrating.   Now all you need to add to this set are your cleansers and a sunblock and you’re good to go for a simple skincare routine. That being said, I’m so thankful that Charis let me try these. If you want to try them now, this set is available at my Charis store.

Have you encountered cholorophyll in skincare before?
