Althea Waterful Green Bamboo Pads | Review

For today’s review, I’ll be tackling on Althea’s newest releases. They recently came out with two new skincare products for calming and moisturizing the skin. I was given the opportunity to review both of these and I’ll be starting off with some skincare bamboo pads.

These Waterful Green Bamboo Pads comes in a simple plastic tub accompanied by a piece of plastic forceps. It contains 80 pads soaked in clear, watery essence and the essence smells deliciously like sweetened lemons. The essence itself does not have a sticky or greasy feeling to it.

The main ingredients of these pads are Salix Nigra bark extract and centella asiatica extract. I think by now you guys know how much I love centella. It sits in my top 3 of favorite skincare ingredients. But this also has bamboo water and sodium hyaluronate. These two latter ingredients also provide moisture and hydration.

These pads can be used in two ways — as a toner and as a mask. I don’t prefer one way over the other. I enjoy using these pads for both purposes and just the way it can be used as a 2-in-1 product appeals to me more. The pads are made out of cotton and are so thin they quickly adhere to the skin. As a toner pad, I just use a single pad to apply the essence on my face. I can even extend its use down to my neck because there’s so much essence in it. As a mask pad, I use three of these and put one each on both cheeks and forehead. I let it sit there for at least 15 minutes before taking them off. I pat the remaining essence on the skin and then sometimes, I put one of the used ones on my lips and let it stay there for 5 to 10 minutes. Why? Because I’m dealing with some weird dry patches on my upper lip and so far this has been such a huge help in keeping them moisturized.

Overall, the effect on my skin has been impressive. It never leaves any tacky feeling after the essence has been absorbed. My skin feels plump, soft and hydrated with a dewy and healthy look. The only thing I have to disagree on with Althea is that this is also great for all skin types, not just dry skin. I have an oily skin and it simply loves these pads. Although I have an inkling that maybe they’re trying to say this will be great for dehydrated skin instead?

Althea Waterful Green Bamboo Pads before and after

A quick skincare tip before I end this review; if you live in a hot and humid country like I am, try putting these pads in the ref first before you use them as masks. You’ll enjoy them even more! Because of good these are and how these can be used, I am giving it my TWO THUMBS UP! You can get these here for Php 700.

Who loves cotton pad masking?
