In my previous post, I’ve mentioned that Althea recently came out with two new skincare items. I’ll be reviewing the other one right now and I can tell you now, it’s just as good as the first one. Let’s not dilly-dally any longer. Here’s my review of the other winning product from Althea that was released together with their Waterful Green Bamboo Pads.
CALM YOUR SKIN DOWN
Keeps irritated & sensitive skin calm and cool
- Intensively hydrating and deeply moisturizing
- Reinforcing the skin’s barrier by Panthenol & 5 soothing ingredients
What is it? A soothing cream that hydrates and repairs damage
Key ingredient PANTHENOL (keeps skin hydrated and soothes )
Full-size 80 ml / 2.7oz
Skin Type Dry & sensitive skin
The Skin Relief Calming Cream comes in a plastic squeeze tube containing 80 ml of product. It seems like a cream but it has a thin consistency allowing it to be absorbed by the skin immediately. It has a subtle aroma of oranges but it dissipates so fast within seconds that your nose won’t even have time to worry about it.
The cream contains panthenol and 5 ingredients that aim to soothe and strengthen the skin — Eclipta Prostrata leaf extract, Amaranthus Caudatus seed extract, Barbadensis leaf extract, Ulmus Davidiana root extract, and Ficus Carica fruit extract. It also has centella asiatica extract, sodium hyaluronate, shea butter and sea water among others.
As I’ve mentioned earlier on in this review, the cream sinks into the skin pretty fast as soon as you massage it in. There will be a little tacky feeling after but it gives way to a nice soft, smooth and satin feel to the skin. The face is left looking really hydrated and dewy once the product is fully absorbed. Despite the dewy look, it doesn’t make me more oily throughout the day which I greatly appreciate because I wouldn’t be able to handle something that would make me like that in this hot weather in the Philippines.
If you carefully observe at my before and after photos above, you’ll see how it looks different on the skin when applied on the back of my hand and on the face. Again, I’ll reiterate that even if it seems dewy in appearance on the face, it doesn’t have a greasy or sticky feel to it. This is actually targeted for dry and sensitive skins but I believe it can be used by all skin types even oily skins. I’m not experiencing any kind of irritation at the moment so I can’t vouch for that skin issue but I’ll be sure to let you guys know if ever that happens.
If you’re looking for a good moisturizer that can soothe and hydrate the skin then I definitely recommend this. I’m also giving it my TWO THUMBS UP for being having a light, and non-greasy texture. You can get this at Althea for Php 560 if you want to try.
