If you’re going to ask why I’m just reviewing this now, it’s because I had only opened this last January, on its last week. I make it a point not to open new mascaras every time I buy them because they only have a shelf life of 3 months or at least it is recommended you replace your mascara every 3 months. Anyway, let’s get on with the review.
A PARADISE OF VOLUME
Voluptuous Volume. Intense Length. Full Lash Fringe, Feathery Soft.
Take your lashes to paradise with voluptuous volume & intense length. Soft wavy bristle brush holds the maximum amount of formula. 200+ bristles catch every lash for a dramatic volumizing effect. Silky smooth formula glides on evenly and easily. This volumizing and lengthening mascara delivers a full lash fringe that’s feathery soft. No flaking. No smudging. No clumping. Women agreed: 91%* saw intense & volumized lashes and 87%* saw more beautiful lashes. +98%* lengthening effect.
This lady, the Voluminous Lash Paradise has the most feminine, and classy packaging I’ve ever seen in a drugstore mascara. The metallic, baby pink color of tube is simply gorgeous to my eyes and the splash of gold of the brand’s logo pairs up so well with the color of the tube. I’m sorry that mine has faded a bit. That’s a sign of constant use by the way and you’ll know the reason in a bit.
This mascara has a soft, curved bristle-wand and supposedly has 200 bristles. With one stroke, it gives a lot of volume and some curl to my lashes. For length though, I think it might just be giving me a little bit. On my before-and-after photo below — yes, this was the same day I took photos for the Althea makeup, my lashes had more volume when I applied the mascara but if you observe their length, there’s only a little bit of difference. What do you think? Did it lengthen them?
Formula-wise, it is waterproof, smudge-proof, and sweat-proof. Humidity proof? I hope so too because I can feel summer is getting an early start on the Philippines. It, however, clumps on me after I put more than 3 layers of it.
Okay, so I love the volume it provides but I do wish it has a more tapered end to its wand so I can comfortable apply it to my lower lashes. The one time I did, the brush smeared the product more on my skin than on my lashes. Other than that, I feel this mascara deserves all the praise it has been given. For a drugstore mascara, I am giving it my TWO THUMBS UP.
This retails for Php 500 but for the whole month of March, it’ll only be at Php 399. Get it on sale if you can because as L’Oreal says, “You’re worth it.”
