Today I have one of the best AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) exfoliators for review. It’s from Liah Yoo’s brainchild, Krave Beauty, a skincare brand that promotes a simple skincare routine rather than a multi-step process. They also encourage you to #PressReset and really listen to what your skin truly needs.
If you want to read my review on the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser, go here. If not, continue on to read the review of their exfoliator.
I KRAVE A CLEAR SKIN
Skin resurfacing exfoliator that kicks your dead skin cells to the curb, revealing youthful, healthier skin while also feeding it delicious antioxidants from dark, leafy greens. Kiss good-bye to the appearance of discoloration, sun damage, and fine lines with regular use.
The Kale-lalu-yAHA is a clear, green liquid in a glass bottle containing 200 ml of product. It has a fresh, minty scent in my opinion (sniffed straight from the bottle though) but once on the cotton pad, I don’t detect anything at all. It has a watery consistency and doesn’t leave any sticky or tacky feeling after application.
I started using it once a week because the first few times left a slight tingly and itchy feeling on the skin, concomitant with AHA use. Now though, I use it twice a week and I believe it keeps me from having a breakout. I apply a couple of drops on a cotton pad and pass it once all over my face, sparing the undereye and lids. I pass it one more time on my forehead, nose and chin — areas where my pores are usually more congested.
So far, this has been the only AHA exfoliator that has given me immediate results overnight. To be honest, I stopped using this for a while last year to finish off another chemical exfoliator and when I came back to it, I decided not to exfoliate for at least 2 weeks. The reason? I wanted to know how good it is. The moment my forehead and chin started to get bumpy, I began using this. Most of my bumps were reduced and there was less inflammation on the affected areas. I really believe I have less breakouts now because of this. My skin also has less texture now, feels quite smooth to touch and has a noticeable glow.
Main ingredients of this are glycolic acid 5.25%, kale extract, spinach extract, parsley extract, aloe extract, hyaluronic acid, vitamin B5 and allantoin. Here’s a complete of their ingredients:
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Water, Butylene glycol, Brassica Oleracea Acephala Leaf (Kale) Extract, Glycolic acid, 1,2-Hexanediol, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycerin, Spinacia Oleracea (Spinach) Leaf Extract, Carum Petroselinum (Parsley) Extract, Chlorella Minutissima Extract, Malus Domestica Fruit (Green apple) Extract, Panthenol (Vitamin B5), Betaine Salicylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Pseudozyma Epicola/Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil/Glucose/Yeast Extract Ferment Filtrate, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Bacillus/Folic acid/Soybean ferment extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Malachite Extract, Polysorbate80, Disodium EDTA
This is now a constant in my evening routine now, and given that I am only using it twice a week, this will probably last me for at least a year so I think one bottle of this is worth it. If you can’t tell from this glowing review then I’ll tell it to you straight, I’m giving it my TWO THUMBS UP and calling it my HOLY GRAIL! I hope you can try this for yourselves guys. I recommend it to anyone who’s looking for an exfoliating toner.
By the way, what’s your current exfoliator?
