Herbs & Hyssop Hydrate Cleansing Foam | Review

I’m always ready and willing to try a hydrating cleanser. Gone were the days when I’d pick any kind of facial foam. Once I had experienced how good a hydrating cleanser was on the skin, I became hooked. Today, I’d like to introduce a local brand, Herbs & Hyssop. They have toning mists, facial oils and cleansers, and I’ve been using one of their cleansers in my rotation.

Contains gentle botanical extracts to soothe irritated, inflamed skin and fight against dehydrated skin with sodium hyaluronate.

  • Calms and soothes irritated skin
  • Replenishes skin hydration
  • Gentle on all skin types
  • Low pH (4.0-5.5)

The Hydrate Cleansing Foam comes in a plastic pump bottle containing 150 ml/ 5.07 oz of product. The cleanser has a clear yellow color and smells funky to me the first time I used it. After weeks of use, it suddenly hit me that the smell resembles some kind of food or corn chips. I don’t mind the smell. It actually reminds me of my childhood when my siblings and I would sneak off with our grandfather to the next door sari-sari store (neighborhood convenience store) to buy some local chips.

A pump will dispense a cloudy foam of cleanser. What I do is put a single pump of it onto my palms and lather it up more. I massage it on my face then rinse it off. My skin feels clean but soft, refreshed and hydrated. There’s no dryness or tightness after washing so that’s very good. I haven’t used it on my body because I think I would use more of the product in that case.

The main ingredients of this cleanser is chamomile and centella but it also has niacinamide and gluconolactone, a PHA. The complete list of ingredients is on the photo below.

I really like this cleanser and I enjoy using it but I’ll hold off my final verdict for now on whether I’ll repurchase it or not because I also want to try out the other two variants — Restore and Purify. Just so we’re clear, I like how it doesn’t dry my skin out and how it feels on the face. I also want to know if the rest of their cleansing foams are just as good and which of them will be the best for my skin type.

I bought this from Frankie & Friends General Store in SM Aura where several local brands are being sold. Online they are available in Shopee, Beauty MNL or you can message them on their Facebook account to order with. Their cleansers are priced at Php 480 each.
