Among MAC’s blushes, the Extra Dimension ones has always been my absolute favorite. They used to be only limited edition items in selected collections and I have always wished before that MAC will make them permanent eventually. And they did make them permanent. Last summer, MAC finally released a whole new variety of Extra Dimension blushes as a part of their permanent range. I’m slowly rediscovering them with the shade Hushed Tone.
A BLUSH WITH AN EXTRA DIMENSION
A modern hybrid blush — combining the smoothness of a cream, blendability of a liquid and finish of a powder with long-wearing colour and prismatic reflections. From soft pastels to corals and plums, this blush delivers polished textures that reflect light and leave a smooth second-skin finish.
Hushed Tone is described as a neutralized pink peach. It seems darker on the pan than how it is actually described. For me, it looks like a peachy orange with a lot of fine micro-shimmers. They’re not detectable with my swatch below but when the light hits it, they give off a very beautiful glow that doesn’t look overly frosty or metallic.
The formula of this blush is just as similar as how I remembered them from before. They’re soft and incredibly pigmented, blending easily and smoothly on the cheeks. They’re easy to build up with a few more layers but just a light touch of my brush against the pan is enough to catch the color and deposit it on my light skin. It lasts for quite a long time on me too.
And because of the glow I mentioned earlier, I finally figured out the reason why I love the ED blushes so much. The first time I used them back then, I wasn’t into any highlighters as much as I am right now. I think the glow these blushes give me is somewhat akin to a subtle highlight.
I am highly giving them my approval guys, TWO THUMBS UP! I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the shades. But not too soon. They are permanent items so I can wait for a while before purchasing another one.
Each ED Blush retails for $29 and… I don’t remember how much it costs here in the Philippines. The price in the box is scratched off and they don’t post the prices on the MAC Cosmetics PH website. I do know it is more than Php 1,000.
Who else is in love with the Extra Dimension blushes, or just the whole Extra Dimension range?
