Clio Waterproof Brush Liner in Kill Black | Review

Clio Waterproof Brush Liner Kill Black

Hey guys, I found myself another makeup product that I can declare as Holy Grail status. I used to go gaga over the Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner but I think the brand was pulled out here in the Philippines sometime last year because I never see the local FB handle being active in social media anymore. I wanted to discover a new liquid eyeliner so I took a chance on Clio’s. Thank the heavens I did.

Clio is globally renowned by makeup artists, beauty editors and consumers for their eyeliners and mascaras. The Kill Black and Kill Brown series have been steady bestsellers for years. Millions upon millions have flown off shelves because of the gorgeous striking shades of black and brown, the amazing applicators (thank you Clio for constant dedication to innovation) and the extremely smudge-proof and waterproof liner and mascara. Yet, it’s easy to wipe off with makeup remover. A Clio classic that speaks for itself.

The Waterproof Brush Liner comes in 2 shades, Kill Black and Kill Brown. It looks like a traditional liquid eyeliner with the brush tapering off to a nice tip. When you close the cap on the eyeliner, there’s some sort of resistance to it. I’ve read somewhere that there’s a spring mechanism inside the cap but in the diagram below for  the “Airtight Smart Cap” design, it doesn’t show any springs nor show why there was some resistance when closing it.

If anyone can explain can confirm the spring, let me know please. Thank you.

Moving on, the brush delivers the perfect opacity, control and flexibility as I draw a line from the inner corner of my upper eyelid up until the outer corner. There’s no fading within the line and I didn’t have to redraw on certain areas.

It’s so good that even a couple of my co-residents were amazed at how black it looks. Performance-wise, it definitely lasts the whole day without smudging or bleeding outside the lines. Then, there was this one time I was wearing it but then I began to cry real bad. I checked myself in the mirror to see if the liner was still intact, and damn it still was! This might also be a very good contender for oily skinned people like me once summer rolls in. I believe it might stand up to the country’s humidity.

Not to worry about removing it though because it comes with a lip & eye oil-based remover. This is definitely the kind of makeup remover you need for all those stubborn, waterproof makeup. Micellar’s water fine for taking this off but honestly it takes longer as compared to this remover.

So a smudge-proof, waterproof and long lasting eyeliner eh? Yes, I believe I have found a complete winner and a new favorite. Plus what other eyeliner can you think of that comes with its own remover? I can’t think of any, can you? That said, Clio’s Waterproof Brush Liner is a HOLY GRAIL item for me!

This set of eyeliner and makeup remover retails for Php 950 which is such a deal! You guys better get in on this. For more information on all their branches in the Philippines, you may visit their FB page.

  1. This is also my HG eyeliner! Never another one. For the price you really can’t beat it. I’m wearing it right now actually, and I’ve had it last 12 hour days on me before! X
