Maybelline Matte Lipsticks in Touch of Nude, Clay Crush & Rosy Peach | Review

Maybelline Matte Lipsticks

Did you guys know that my first ever lipstick was from Maybelline? And it was a Water Shine lipstick too, if I remember correctly. Yes, a Maybelline lipstick was my very first foray into the makeup world. And now look where I am and how much I’ve accumulated. Anyway, today I’ll just be posting about 3 Maybelline lipsticks that I currently have in my stash.

Paint your lips in Maybelline New York’s wide collection of lipsticks – from bold colors, subtle hues, sophisticated mattes to flirty satins, a creamy lipstick texture to a velvet smooth liquid finish – you can find the right lipstick for any occasion.

Maybellline lipsticks are encased in rectangular silver tubes which have different colored covers depending on what line its from. As you can see from my minimal collection, I have one from the Powder Matte, Creamy Matte and Rosy Matte line. Each tube contains about 0.15 oz of product.

Maybelline Powder Matte Touch of Nude

Touch of Nude appears like a warm rosy peach on me. This was my least favorite. The color is pretty, don’t get me wrong but you’ll find out later on the reason behind my preference.

Maybelline Creamy Matte Clay Crush

Clay Crush is a warm peach brown. I like this the most out of all these 3. I wear it the most because I’m more a nude lips kind of girl at the moment.

Maybelline Creamy Matte MPK04

MPK04 (or Rosy Peach from the Rosy Matte line coming from this post from Maybelline Philippines’ FB page) is a medium mauve pink with some warm undertones on my lips. Color-wise, this one looks similar to Touch of Nude but when it comes to the formula, they’re completely different.

To be honest, I prefer wearing the Creamy Mattes more because, well they’re creamier for one thing. Application is easier too as they don’t tug or pull on the lips. Another is they last longer than the Powder Mattes, which start fading after two hours of wear only on me. Creamy Mattes stay for 4 hours at most before I find myself needing to reapply the color. Also, Touch of Nude has a more drying formula for me. My lips starting flaking, even when I had prepped and exfoliated my lips beforehand, after the first two hours.

While they don’t exactly stay on the lips for a long time, the shades are very wearable. At least the ones I have on hand. And I still plan to get a couple more but I’m still deciding which ones I should get.

Each tube retails for Php 299, however, Maybelline would frequently have sales. In fact, I bought these on three different sales. And they have one right now that started last November 15 and will end on December 31 so yes, I will get more Creamy Mattes soon!
