OFRA Cosmetics collaborated the ladies of @dupethat and came up with two gorgeous highlighters. There was only You Glow Girl when I was circling the Ofra kiosk at Landmark Makati. This is my very first Ofra highlighter — mind you, every highlighter they have is on my wishlist — and it’s time I review it.
FOR GLOWING GIRLS EVERYWHERE
You Glow Girl is a gorgeous pink highlighter with the perfect amount of shimmer to bring out that blushed pinky glow on your cheekbones! The other beautiful highlighter You Dew You has a lovely golden tone to it giving ALL skin tones a peachy golden dewy highlight making those cheekbones POP! The OFRA team has had so much joy working on this project with these two wonderful ladies who know what it’s all about when it comes to highlighters!!
You Glow, Girl is a pink highlighter with a metallic finish. It isn’t subtle — it goes beyond the realm of subtle — but rather looks intensely wet even with a small amount. If you’re a first time highlighter user, I highly suggest that before you purchase it, swatch it in stores or personally apply it on the tops of your cheekbones first just so you can gauge if you like it or not. That’s what I did by the way; I swatched it on my arm and got sold by how it looks against the light.
The formula reminds me very much of the cream-to-powder types that’s very popular among the beauty community. Like I mentioned, the powder is creamy, soft and buttery with little to no fallout, feeling like it’ll melt against the skin. Another thing to love about this highlighter is its wear time, which has lasted for at least 9 hours on me with only some minimal fading.
Because it does have a very intense glow, it may emphasize some uneven areas of the skin particularly the pores but so far since I’ve only placed it in the highest points of my cheekbones. To avoid emphasizing the size of my pores, I’ve never applied it on my nose and nowhere near the sides of it.
Some days I forego any blush and just put this on after my bronzer. The pink overtones more than make up for the lack of the blush on my light skin. And if I want to use an additional blush for my cheeks, I pick the lighter, barely-there shades only so as not to appear too pink or red.
I’m glad I picked this up for Php 895 when I had the chance — I think that was early this year. Now, looking at the GlamourBox website, it retails for Php 1,395. That’s a huge price increase. I’m not going to order the other shade online, no matter how much I want it. I’ll go back to Landmark Makati for the You Dew, You highlighter soon. Until next time guys!
