It may seem like I’m not into highlighters at the moment because I don’t rave about them like I usually do — not true by the way. I’ve just managed not to indulge into buying a new one every week since I have yet to hit pan on anything I own. Anyway, I have been using The Balm Cosmetic’s Mary-Lou Manizer mostly now and I realized I have not reviewed it here yet. So to amend that, it’s what I’m going to review today, along with Betty-Lou Manizer.
MARY-LOU & BETTY-LOU’S GLOW
Meet Mary-Lou Manizer, a seemingly innocent honey-hued luminizer that catches everybody’s eye. This highlighter, shadow and shimmer diffuses light so your skin looks softer and younger while adding a subtle glow.
Fake it, don’t bake it! Before you head out to relish some well deserved sun, score a faux, sun-kissed glow with theBalm’s Betty-Lou Manizer. Betty-Lou is a silky smooth, all-in-one bronzing highlighter, shimmer and shadow.
Mary-Lou Manizer is a light champagne gold while Betty-Lou Manizer is a warm bronze, both of which have beautiful, fine shimmers respective to their shades. Both are kept in a light, metallic, round, mirrored compacts containing 8.5g or 0.3oz of product. These are not just used for one purpose only. They’re highlighters, eyeshadows and in the case of Betty-Lou, a bronzer too.
The textures of the powder are soft, smooth, and silky. They blend so easy on the skin that they seem to melt once applied. They are very much pigmented too and these last on my face for 7 to 8 hours with some fading. Both of the shades provide a luminous sheen on the skin which makes them the perfect final touch for a healthy, glowing look.
I have worn Mary-Lou Manizer for everything it was meant for, as a highlighter, eyeshadow, and even to highlight the area on my brow bones, and the inner corner of the eyes. As for Betty-Lou Manizer, I don’t use it all that much because the shimmer is too much for me as a bronzer and well yeah, it’s also too warm for me but it works perfectly as a solitary wash of bronze on the lids. If I am more tanned, then I might be able to wear it on the cheeks but I don’t really get much sun these days.
Both shades look amazing with any way I use it. And as you can see from the swatches above, they look so good. The overall quality just leaves me very impressed that I am giving it my TWO THUMBS UP!
Each item costs Php 1,025 at the Beauty Bar online and in stores. Sooner or later, I’ll be getting the last member of the Manizer Sisters, Cindy Lou.
So, I’m sure most of you have these. What other The Balm products can you recommend me?
