The NARS x Charlotte Gainsbourg collaboration is one of the collections I was very much eager to see personally this year.
Yeah, okay, that was a fib in the sense that I always anticipate what NARS has coming up every season. I know they’ve got some hits and misses but you have to admit collaborating with Charlotte Gainsbourg is pretty exciting. And on first glance, the new Lip Tints seem promising.
CHARLOTTE’S NATURAL LIP TINT
The Charlotte Gainsbourg for NARS Collection presents the iconic chanteuse’s signature style through François Nars’ vision of beauty.
A hint of tint. Stay polished from London to Paris with this limited-edition Lip Tint, inspired by Charlotte Gainsbourg’s story and signature style. In one swipe, it delivers the perfect touch of natural-looking color with extremely comfortable wear. Wear it alone, or paired with smoky eyes for subtle intrigue. Three just-bitten shades evoke Gainsbourg’s effortless French beauty.
- Coconut oil known to soften skin and reduce moisture loss
- Vitamin C and E known to help hydrate and protect lips
Èphèlide is described as an antique rose. Once on my lips, it looks as a cool-toned plummy rose with a glossy finish. The doe foot applicator is pretty basic and delivers the color easily in one pass.
The texture and formula of this lip tint is amazing in itself. It was actually described as a lip gloss by the NARS SA in Alabang Town Center. While it seems like it in appearance, their similarities end there. Pigmentation is medium at best. It has a thin although a bit viscous consistency that doesn’t feel sticky nor heavy on the lips. It doesn’t have any scent or flavor. It’s very hydrating to my dry lips and I can safely wear this even without any lip balm prior to application. It didn’t even highlight the drier patches in some areas of my lips.
The glossiness lasts for 4 hours at most after which, it leaves a light pink tint. That same tint stays for a couple more hours. Yes, I still have some color on my lips by the time I get home from work at night. It’s definitely lighter in appearance as compared to when I first put it on but it certainly beats having pale lips.
So considering the formula and how long the color lasts, I’d say this deserves a TWO THUMBS UP. Unfortunately, this is another limited edition product from the collection. And again, I am hopefully wishing NARS will add this to their permanant range of lip colors and create more shades.
Have you gotten your hands on any of the lip tints from NARS? What shades do you have? I’m actually thinking about buying the other two as well.
