The only reason I had not bought myself some Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks is because I could not just pick one or two shades. In fact, I want almost all of the! It’s a good thing though that sets of minis came out. Four shades in a set? Yes please!
Shout out to Liquid Matte lovers! Your all-time favorite liquid lipsticks are now available in mini versions! 4 crave-worthy minis gathered in gorgeous monochromatic collections specifically curated to fit your latest obsession (and your purse!). Featherweight, easy to layer, and comfortable to wear, the question won’t be how long it will last on your lips but how long you will resist before trying out a new shade. The perfect set to take your look from day to night, create beautiful ombres, or combine shades to build your own.
The PINK EDITION: The “role model” set taylor-made for timeless alluring women. The collection includes Gossip Gurl (the everyday cute pink), Trophy Wife (an all-time rose wood), Icon (an elegant reddish-pink), Socialite (a brand new glitzy rose gold).
The Pink Edition has the shades Gossip Gurl, an everyday pink, Trophy Wife, described as a rose wood, Icon, a reddish pink and finally, Socialite, one of the two newest metallics and described as a rose gold. Each mini contains 1.9ml/ 0.064fl oz. which is less than half of the regular sized Liquid Matte Lipstick.
Come to think of it, a regular sized HB Liquid Matte Lipstick costs $20 while the minis are priced at $40. So basically, each mini should retail less than $10 considering the amount however, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Think about this guys.
The formula runs more liquid than most liquid lipsticks and these liquid lipsticks have a sweet candy-like scent. Socialite seems thinner in consistency and not as pigmented as the others are more opaque in comparison. With that observation, it takes me at least 2 layers with Socialite for it to show up well and only one with the rest. The runny formula take a couple of seconds to dry and once they do, they feel light and not uncomfortable or sticky at all. The lighter shades last at least 5 hours with the darkest going as far as 7 hours.
Color-wise, my favorite is Socialite. In fact, I’ve mentioned it on my Instagram account about how it’s the first metallic shade of lipstick I’ve enjoyed wearing. The other 3 are just as pretty but a metallic shade that looks good on me is a rarity. All in all, I like Huda Beauty’s liquid lipsticks but there’s just a catch I can’t get over with with these minis. The PRICE.
And with that, I’m going to end this post with a piece of note. If the quality of the minis and the regulars are very much the same then you are all better off getting the regular ones instead of 4 minis that cost more than they should. I’ll be doing that next time.
