So when I bought the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation, I also bought the Pro Matte Powder and the Infallible Setting Spray. I actually thought about getting the whole L’oreal Infallible experience because I imagined that using all three together is better. However, today’s review is only about the Pro Matte Powder.
AN INFALLIBLE MATTE POWDER
Absorbs excess oil and reduces shine on the skin’s surface for up to 16 hours. The lightweight pressed powder can be used alone, to set foundation after application, and/or throughout the day for quick touch-ups.
Up to 16hr shine-defying power. Creates the perfect matte finish. The pro look of longwear.
The Infallible 16HR Pro Matte Powder comes in 6 shades. The powder comes in a plastic compact with a see-through cover and has a separate compartment for the product and another compartment for the sponge and mirror. The shade I bought is the lightest, #100 Porcelain. Again, I only estimated my shade match by looking at the product thru the packaging. (There were no testers available when I bought this.)
It only has a sheer, light coverage with a finish that’s mostly matte. When partnered with the Infallible 24HR Long Wear Foundation, it can provide another layer of coverage. It’s a good setting powder for the foundation but on its own, it doesn’t really provide enough coverage for the skin problems I’m more concerned about like big pores and uneven skin tone. If you’ve got good skin, then by all means, you can probably wear this alone. Oil control is not its most sttrongest suite since I only stay shine free with this (without liquid foundation) for about 2 hours or so before my sebum starts overpowering the powder (fyi, I’ve got really oily skin). Maybe the 16-hour claim will work for those with dry and normal skin types.
For anyone else who uses the same powder, what do you guys think of it? Anyway, L’Oreal Paris Philippines is having a summer sale at the moment up until April 2. Here’s the link for the items included in the sale and their prices. The Infallible 16HR Pro Matte Powder originally retails for Php 600 and will only cost Php 300 during the sale.
