Hey everyone.
I finally took the plunge and the bought myself the famed Tom Ford Lovelust blush.
My friend squealed in excitement when I showed her and as she ooh-ed and aah-ed when I presented the open compact to her, I began thinking, was it just lust that I bought it on impulse or will I end up falling in love with it?
Read my review to find out.
The Promise:
Symmetrical, sculpted cheekbones are vital to creating the Tom Ford look. This sumptuous powder blush delivers layers of possibility, from a sexy glow to a more dramatic, color-rich look. Formulated with spherical pearls and rich emollients, it glides onto skin with the comfort of a cream, achieving outstanding luminosity and a velvety transparency.
The Review:
Lovelust is a light peachy-coral with fine gold shimmers. The shimmers are not too heavy to dwell into being mistaken for a human disco ball but subtle enough that it can brighten anyone’s complexion (I think so and I hope so). The shimmers have never been noticeable on my skin except perhaps if you magnify it on a really bright day. The shimmer, or rather, the sheen translates to a soft glow on my cheeks that was just too lovely for words.
The color is ideal for everyday wear. It’s also one of those shades that anyone can wear. And it doesn’t need to be thought twice before application on the cheeks. A no-fuss blush, if you get what I’m pointing at. I went at it at first with a light hand but the pigmentation was a little bit on the sheer side. It needed to be built up on my skin and while it may take a few layers, one can never go over the top with this kind of shade.
There’s some bit of product kicked up in whenever I dip my brush in the pan because the powder itself is finely-milled. However, it doesn’t appear to be powdery at all. It blends so smoothly and seamlessly on my skin, staying there for at least 8 hours or so. The texture is as heavenly as it looks, I promise.
So to answer the question, is it love or lust? I would say both. Although I wouldn’t hail the shade as one of my holy grails, the formula is to die for. This is one of those products that I can’t believe I didn’t get sooner. I’m already thinking of the shade I would like to get my hands on next.
I bought this from @designerdepotph for Php 3550. It originally retails for $60 at Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Have you tried any shades of the Tom Ford Cheek Color Blush?
