Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette | Review

Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette

When you say eyeshadow palette, I immediately think of any nude or neutral shades.

I feel like I’m on a mission to scout for the best among the high-ends and drugstore brands.

So yes, this is another nude palette review. Avert your eyes now if you’re sick of those but for the rest of you nude fanatics, click on to read about one of Catrice’s products.

 The Promise:

Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette2

Six nude shades in one palette: subtle sand, delicate beige and brown in various facets. Some matt, some with a shimmer. The soft eye shadow texture with high pigmentation and colour dispersion creates natural-looking eye make-up, yet is also ideal for smokey eye styles in the evening. With a practical double-ended applicator.

The Review:

The Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette comes as simple as 6 neutral eyeshadows encased in a plastic palette with a clear, see-through cover ranging from light beige to dark browns with a mix of warm and cool-toned shadows. It contains 6 g/0.21 oz of product, so that’s about 1 g of eyeshadow for each shade. It comes with its own dual ended applicator that I will probably never use. Some of the eyeshadows have a frosty finish while others seems to be satin despite being described as matte. There are no mattes from what I can tell from an initial glance.

Make no mistake about the shades you see on the palette because they translate quite differently on the skin. #1 is a frosted beige. #2 is a pale champagne-pink with shimmers. #3 is a frosted dusky rose (looks coppery above though, noh? Must be the light).

#4 is a metallic gold with some shimmers. #5 is a medium warm-toned, ashy brown with a satin finish. #6 looks to be a dark chocolate brown with a satin finish.

Except for #1 which applies a little patchy, the rest of the eyeshadows are comparable to the Absolute Eye Colour Mono Eyeshadow that I reviewed before but a bit more powdery. The pigmentation is basically the same, soft and blends easily with the rest of the eyeshadows. Without the use of a primer, these wear for 6 hours without any creasing or fading. But with a primer, they can last as long as 8 hours. Overall, I must say I’m impressed with the palette’s quality. It’s not very often that a drugstore product will leave me in awe.

The Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Palette is priced at Php 499.00 at all leading SM Department Stores.

Excuse me now while I go hunt for the rest of the Absolute Eyeshadow Palettes from Catrice. I hope the others are also available here in the Philippines.
