Sorry for the lack of posts within the week. It seems I am only able at the moment to take photos, edit them and write my reviews on the weekends. (Don’t worry though. Once the Christmas break kicks in, I’ll be posting more often.)
Have you ever experienced attempting to create a straight line but it looks crooked from a distance and your determination to straighten it out ends up with you sporting a thicker line than when you’ve first started? Who can relate?
Well, the product I am going to review made it somehow possible not to overdo eyelining. It’s one of the beauty products included in the beauty box I received from Cristina Madara which is the Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner.
Why we love it!
It’s the FIRST EVER lash-hugging gel liner in a pen! This matte black gel formula won’t smudge, budge or dry out, and the innovative soft AccuFlex™ Tip hugs your lashline from corner to corner. The closer the line, the bigger the eye!
24-hour* & waterproof
*Instrumental test on 19 panelists
91% said it was longwearing*
88% said it hugged the lashline*
84% said eyes looked visibly larger*
*Results observed in a consumer panel survey on 32 women after 2 weeks
How to apply
For first-time use
To prep the pen, remove the AccuFlex™ tip protector & discard. Twist base until gel appears on tip. Wipe off excess.
For daily use
Wipe leftover gel off AccuFlex™ tip before each use to get fresh liner every time. Slowly twist base until a tiny amount of gel appears on tip. Rest the tip on the base of your lashes and guide along your lashline from either the inner or outer corner. The angled AccuFlex™ tip works both ways.

Double the REAL! Wear they’re real! push-up liner and they’re real! mascara together for beyond longer lashes AND bigger-looking eyes.
First thing you’ve got to remember when you get a hold of the Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner is to be extremely patient. Yes, extremely, I’m throwing that word in there. The gel liner doesn’t surface up at the tip until about 80 clicks or so. (LOL, I really counted!) It’s frustrating, I understand but there’s no need to get over zealous about twisting it up and not paying any attention unless you’re prepared to get messy when the liner itself comes out overflowing from the tip and you’ve armed yourself with a load of cotton pads and waterproof makeup remover.
Anyway, I’m going to get down to it. The gel liner being dispensed dries easily to a deep black with a matte finish. There’s no time for it to smudge or transfer to the lower lash lines. And hell yes, it’s waterproof! I actually took a shower with this on (ahh, the things I would do to push a product’s limit to the test) and what do you know, it stayed on the upper lashline the entire time. There was a tiny bit of smudging but other than that there was no fading. It practically stayed on the whole day, no primer needed.
The most wonderful thing about this liner is the AccuFlex tip. Personally, I find it easier to do cat-eyes and wingtips with it. I also find it easier to create straighter lines with the tip as compared to other liners I’ve tried. It could be because of the slanted tip which is soft yet firm so you can draw precise, straight lines without irritating the sensitive skin around your eyes.
Look ma, a straight line!
A word of advise in case you’re wondering, do keep the orange tip that acts like a stopper in the future. The gel liner easily dries up when left exposed even with the cap on.
For anyone of you who is having a hard time applying eyeliners then this could be the just the thing for you. Before you give up entirely on them, try this little gem first so you can get a hang of it.
Currently retails for Php 1600 at all Benefit outlets in the Philippines and $24 in the US.
