It’s getting colder now and the months are continuously ending in “-ber”. (We don’t have fall here, by the way.) And as the climate changes, so does a lot of my preferences. Like how I dress, for example. I keep picking out blacks and whites to pair up.
As for my lip color, I am now more partial to deeper and darker shades compared to last year when I kept on trying and wearing anything red. So no, I’m not into reds right now but something far more mysterious and seductive.
If you guessed berries, you’re right and I just want to share my favorite berry for now.
The Review:
Framboise Velours is one of two limited edition shades released for Fall 2014, the bullet of which is encased in deep red leather.
It is described as a deep raspberry pink. I say, “Spot on!” Such a gorgeous, raspberry pink it is. Initially, it has a shine to it which fades and turns to its semi-matte finish after an hour. Coverage is opaque and pigmentation is intense with one pass on the lips. It feels slicker and more creamy than the other shades I have. To date, it’s the most hydrating Le Rouge I have ever encountered — there’s no need for a balm! It survived a greasy meal, a cup of coffee and several light snacks in between . It just went on and on after the seventh hour and leaves a beautiful deep fuchsia stain after.
I can’t find a lipstick that resembles quite anything like it in my collection. Granted, I don’t have too many berries, in fact, I only have a few I can count in one hand but I’m starting to notice how it compliments my skintone better than most reds .
One of the ways I wear it is I blot down the shine for a matte finish. It’s still comfortable on the lips and the color stays the same.
The pigmentation, texture, longevity and color have all surpassed my expectations. Framboise Velours definitely deserves two thumbs up! I just wish Givenchy will make more berry shades and add them in the permanent range. This limited edition shade retails for $36 at Sephora.
Now it’s your turn, what lip color are you rocking this season?

I’m after this one too but I can’t seem to find it anywhere! 😦 So yeah, I really hope they’ll make it a permanent item! Even if the leather of the casing comes in black! 😉 xx

I got this at Sephora last night and I’m *so* impressed with the formula. This is my first Givenchy lipstick and the only lipstick I own (and I have way too many) that doesn’t transfer, yet maintains its deep, rich color. Amazing. The packaging is beautiful as well, though I wish the cylinder didn’t feel like plastic.
