Here in the Philippines, summer is doling out its final days. But for MAC, their summer collection has just began making waves across the globe.
I am a big fan of MAC’s summer collections (hello, bronzers?) and their Extra Dimension products which, despite the raves and praises given year after year, are never released permanently to the public. Putting those two in one collection skyrockets my excitement to a different level. This year’s summer collection with a plethora of Extra Dimensions is not something I will be skipping.
Sirens of the deep inspire an aquascape of shades, as waves of tarnished olive, seafoam and darkened plum surrender to water’s enticing spirit. Sultry eyes take on a subtle radiance, while luminous Extra Dimension Blush washes over cheeks, creating a goddess glow. Under the sea, nails glisten in aquatic chrome and metallic Nail Lacquer, as Lipstick, Lipglass and Lip Pencil dive deep into colour. Limited-edition teal packaging, dramatically accented with sheer water droplets.
Mystical is described as a midtone creamy rose with a cremesheen finish.
Extra Dimension Blush
Sea Me, Hear Me (L) and Seduced at Sea (R)
A liquid-powder blush with prismatic reflections in two shimmering shades. Impact ranges from sheer crystallized light to a highly polished metallic effect. Lasts up to six hours.
Sea Me, Hear Me is described as a beige pink.
Seduced at Sea is described as a midtone neutral plum.
Bronzing Powders and Extra Dimension Bronzer in gentle, pearlized shades set skin aglow for summer. Limited-edition compacts in aquatic teal are dramatically accented with crystal clear droplets. Anticipate waves of adoration when carrying the coordinated chic, teal clutch, with a texturized water droplet finish and translucent sides in aqua.
Extra Dimension Bronzer
A liquid-powder bronzer with prismatic reflections. Highlights the face in the golden bronze shimmer of Aphrodite’s Shell and soft tan of Delphic. The cool, creamy near-fluid formula creates a luminous, well-defined finish. Wears ten hours. Limited-edition teal packaging, elegantly accented with crystal clear water droplets.
Aphrodite’s Shell is described as a golden bronze with a touch fine shimmer.
I’ll talk about the packaging here because I am damn well impressed with it. The metallic teal compacts and tubes of this collection is peppered by fake water droplets giving customers a visual as well as tactile stimulation that has a summer-y vibe to it. Whoever thought of this idea is a genius! The price increase is so worth it.
Honestly, I wanted to get a couple more but these 4 are at the top of my list. I might head to MAC to swatch the others personally when it releases here in the Philippines.
