This is usually how it goes when I find myself strolling in between booths of any bazaar I head to. Aside from stopping by the usual local clothes, shoes, swimwear brands I am familiar with, I make it a point to spare some cash and visit the local beauty sellers to get my fix on brands not available in department stores.
Like Milani, Rimmel, Nyx — back when it was not yet available in the Philippines, NYC, etc. My point is, it was in one of these bazaars that I was introduced to my first baked blush from Milani and let me tell you, it was love up until now.
The Experience:
Milani Baked Blushes are housed in a somewhat bulky, golden plastic compact. There is a separate compartment for the blush and another for the mirror and a brush, which I find to be too scratchy for my liking. Doesn’t affect how I feel about the blush though. Now let’s get to that.
Berry Amore is described as a rose berry with gold shimmer. It started out as exactly that, a rosy blush with a hint of berry in it and gold shimmer — I still remember however years ago that was because it was such a glorious find. But as time passed by, the berry disappeared. I don’t know, maybe the makeup gods were smiling down at me when I purchased it or something, because I swear that everytime I wear it, it looks more like a rosy coral to me. You’ll see on my swatch below. Tell me if it’s just me but I really, really swear! I cannot be happier that I got this compact in particular.
I don’t fancy blushes with gold shimmers in them because from my experience, they accentuate my pores and look annoying whenever I get too oily — case in point, the NARS Orgasm blush. But not this one because my pores are not emphasized, I don’t look extra oily in the afternoon and the shimmer? It’s not too obvious on me. It’s actually subtle and gives me a nice glow. I reach for this particular shade amongst my stash when I’m in a mood for some highlighter lovin’ and I’m too lazy to use a separate highlighter.
Does it look coral-y to you?
I’m giving Berry Amore a two thumbs up! Can’t wait to try the other shades. Right now, I’m trying to find a way to get my hands on the 2 newest baked blushes, Bella Rosa and Delizioso Pink. They’re matte! How amazing is that?
Do you feel the same way about the Milani Baked Blushes?

My favorite is the runway shadow in “bronze doll”. They also have a “runway eyes palette” which is 6 shades together, I have like every one haha

Will check those, thanks! 🙂

I agree! I wish there are more drugstore brands locally available in the Philippines but when they sell here, it becomes ridiculously overpriced!

The gold shimmer is what’s keeping me from buying orgasm.

Try Deep Throat Rae. It’s close enough to Orgasm without the shimmer.
