Recently, I’ve been on a barely-there-blush mood. Most often, I find myself going for either a cat-eye winged eyeliner or smoky neutral eyes. And of course, a nude lip. I was searching thru my drawers for something I haven’t used in a while and up came the Illamasqua blush in Naked Rose.
I bought this way back last year when the shade was still available at Sephora and never got around to using it until this time. So, I thought now’s a good time to give it a review.
The Promise:
Illuminate, radiate, make your face come alive with the colour and drama of Illamasqua Powder Blusher. Colour-intense and highly pigmented, use it to shade, brighten, enhance and define the shape of your face. Be bold, be daring, be the centre of attention.
The Review:
The Naked Rose blush comes in a black plastic compact with a clear, plastic on top. It is described as a neutral beige pink blush. On me, it is a matte, slightly cool-toned, pink blush that’s just way too pigmented. You wouldn’t think it has that much pigment by just looking at it. But appearances can be deceiving. As what happened to me before, I made the mistake once of swirling my blush several times on the pan and ended up with too much pink on my cheeks. I’ve learned my lesson well and ever since then, I just dip my brush once to get the barely there effect. One swirl on the pan is practically enough.
The powder blush is soft, finely-milled and easy to blend. You can easily build the color up with several layers. I suggest using a light hand because aside from too much pink from my first use, I also got some fallout — pink powder was everywhere. I would even go as far as to say that this is the most “crumbly” blush I had ever met (which is so weird because I don’t experience this with my other Illamasqua blush). But other than that, everything else about this blush is good. It lasts a good 7-8 hours on me before I see it fading on my oily cheeks.
Next time, I’ll review the other blush I have from this brand. How about you, do you own any blushes from Illamasqua?

I love the shade :))

I checked their blush offerings for any red or plum shades… But, I dunno, maybe I’ll just go for local options for now.

Pretty. I’m looking for a super wearable shade for everyday. This color is so cute, and it’ll probably take a while to hit pan since it’s so pigmented.
